When I Re authorise it does not play

I have looked on all the posts and no one has had this problem!! Please help?

When I burn with DVD Shrink using the re authoring option, I am unable to play it on my ordinary DVD player, but I can play it on my computer DVD. When I burn the whole disc it plays on my DVD player and my DVD player on the computer.

What am I doing wrong during the re authoring process to stop DVD's playing on my Player and why does it work fine when watching it on the computer??????

What brand of media do you use?

Do you burn single layer or double layer DVDs? Which app do you use to burn? Do you burn directly from DVD Shrink?

Also, try to load your reauthored DVD in PgcEdit. If it complain about a wrong number of VOB IDs (which is a known bug of DVD Shrink), that may be the reason of the problem (though this problem is harmless for most players.)

Burning after re authoring

I use Nero version 7 which I purchased 2 days ago, I have used it before

When I burn one whole disc using the 'Full Disc' icon. It burns fine and works in the DVD Player. When using Re authoring it burns fine and plays fine on my computer but why is it when I put it into my DVD player it says ' no disc'.

I am using Maxwell DVD +RW 1-4 x speed 120 min 4.7 gb.

Everyone is talking about using DVD Decrypter for ripping files do you think it would help my problem, if so how would it make a difference.

How would I load the re authored disc into Pgc Edit?

I have checked out what blutach said in 'Golden Rules of burning' and I don't think it is my equipment or the disc's I am using, I will however try reducing the burning speed.

If I were you, i'd try a different brand, and see if that makes any difference. I tend to like verbatims.

You will have to use Pgcedit on the whole movie and then re-author in shrink.


It is possible it may have just been a bad burn, or just bad media as already sugested. With bad media it is possible for some discs to work good and other to not work at all. That is why it is labled bad media.
