separate audio from video on DVD

HI,
I was trying to find out how to burn only the audio part of a DVD.. make it a cd? I am not sure which programs one would need. I have decrypter, DVD shrink 3.2, Nero, imgburn... and DVDclone. Anybody has any good suggestions? I am not that familiar with all the tech. words, so if you can please simplify. Thanks lots

You can demux the streams when you rip in DVD Decrypter. Use IFO mode and select the stream you want (maybe the 6 channel AC3). Click on Stream Processing, select the stream you want and select demux. This will get an AC3 file on your desktop (or whatever folder you select). This guide should help (see the IFO mode/demuxing section).

Then convert it into a WAV file. Ner0 Wave Editor can do this, IIRC or use BeSweet/Belight (see the audio FAQ).

thanks for the super prompt answer. I downloaded the BeSweet and Gui programs. I have decrypted the DVD and got two files VTS 01 0 and VTS 01 1 (does it sound right?) I am not sure if I should paste both in the Besweet program. But then there are lots of choices 5.1 DD WAVE? or what? I tried to look at the guide but it would not open the english version. Any other place where i could ck the guide? some directions as to what to choose? FRC presets? not sure... Output bitrate? I have never done this... so i am especially challanged. Thank you so much for all you do. ciao

Actually, you don't need to demux. I'm sorry. BeSweet can accept VOBs as input.

Just follow the audio FAQ. You will need to rip all the main movie. Forget about the menus (_0.VOB). Use BeLight! Click on WAV - 16 bit stereo, WAV. Leave everything else as per defaults.

Hi,
I was able to separate the audio, however it did not fit on a cd when I translated the file into WAV. So, I shrunk it to MP3 and still did not fit. I tried to copy it on a DVD instead than a CD and although I could do it, it would not play it. Do you have any other suggestions? I used the trial copy of dvd audio extractor... i found it easier to use. Still could not get the guide in English for the besweet... thanks and ciao
