RE:How to save hundreds of Mb by just displaying cast in credits

I followed blutach's instructions on how to make stills of the credits at the end of the movie here...http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48866.

At the end it says "You can do this as many times you like with as many still screens as you please".

Well, I had a long cast list so I had to create 5 BMPs in the Temp folder.

I went thru the entire process for each still, but when I previewed the movie it only showed the 5th still. The file in the DVD Muxman created for every still was VTS_01_0.IFO (along with VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS_01_0.BUP and VTS_01_1.VOB).

I'm guessing that's why only the 5th still was shown, because Muxman created the same filenames for each BMP.

I tried deleting all files created by Muxman after each DVD still creation. That didn't work. I tried just leaving the files alone hoping Muxman would create different filenames for each still. That didn't work either. It just wrote over the existing files.

How can I create multiple stills if Muxman is going give each the same filenames?

Name each still something different, yes.

Then, in muxman, add the stills in turn and make the time for each say 15 seconds (or whatever pleases you).

Then mux the new title, which will be comprised of 5 stills, each lasting 15 seconds.

It works!

It worked! I added all BMPs in Muxman and set the duration for each here.





Then when I imported into Title 1 in movie I set "Don't pause: it's an animated clip" and "Return to the Root Menu of the original title".

WORKS PERFECT!!!

Now that I've got the stills thing down, thanx again, is there any way to keep the audio in while the still/s are being shown?

Of course!. Demux the audio from the cell. And when you mux with muxman, add that audio track!

Easy demux is PgcDemux. Get it from the VobBlanker site.

I've searched here and doom9's forum.

I've found a lot of reference to it, but no guides.

There is none because it is so damn intuitive.

You drag and drop the IFO that contains the movie anywhere on the app, pick an output folder where your demuxed stream is to go, tick what you want (demux audio in your case) and pick the PGC (titles domain, whatever PGC the movie is) and tick single cell and select the relevant cell. Then click Process and you are there.

I've just never done this mux stuff before. I didn't know which IFO to open or which cell to pick.

NP. Now, remember, when you remux, remux in the right stream in the right place. So, if you demux and there are 5 audio streams, take stream 1 and mux that in in audio possie number 1 and forget the rest (when the credit play, so long as audio stream #1 is chosen to play the movie, it will play in the stilled credits).

I'm back

Now that I know how to import stills at the beginning or end of the movie. How do I add or replace stills or clips in other areas? Like before the movie starts and the rating screen shows, or replace the FBI stuff with something else.

I added a blank cell in the PGC, but I don't know how to put anything in it.

Is that a dumb question? It's been a while since I've done anything but cut the DVD's with PgcEdit and VobBlanker.

You can replace the cell with your stilled content in VobBlanker anywhere.

DVD Remake Pro also does this easily.
