vobblanker: my standalone doesn't like it's output

Backing up my copy of Domino I used vobblanker to blank out some trailers and warnings before the menu. On my PC it's fine but my standalone grinds to a halt before the menu appears. Any ideas?

Maybe use FixVTS on the files after VobBlanker have saved the changes

I don't think so. When the disc is loading on my standalone it gets to the menu if I press forward chapter repeatedly - but otherwise it won't get beyond the blanks vobblanker has created.

Do you want all of the extra's on that disc or do you want just the movie, or the movie with menu's?

There are some different options if your having a problem with vobblanker.


Like blutach said a burn log wouldnt hurt if there are other issue going on the burn log could show it.


But first lets find out what on that dvd you want to back up.

SOunds a bit like your standalone does not like playing the small blank cells. Or they may have been somehow programmed with infinite still times. If you post the IFOs (after VobBlanker) we can have a look.

Also, ensure you have Change post into precomm (safely) ticked (in more settings).

It is an old player - I just tried my newer player and it gradually makes it way through the blanks and comes up with the menu. I suppose what I want is a way to go straight to the menu without playing through the blanks. I like to keep menus and extras in my backups - but I want to be rid of trailers and warnings.

Thanks. I've tried the Ripit4Me method. I'm not convinced it's worked: my software PC players still go through the all intros before the menu - I'll have to wait until I've shrunk it to try it on the standalones.

Well, you are doing something wrong, cos it jumps to the first menu with buttons. After that, you are on your own (if it plays a trailer or FBI for example).

Yes I want to keep everything but the warnings and trailers. Actually blutach you are right - Ripit4Me did a good job on the disc I tried it on. Unfortunately it was a disc which had a menu right at the beginning asking to select a language - the warnings followed this.

In this case, restore the old IFOs - they are in your saved logs. And use the PgcEdit function.
