No, I don't think so, but DVDSubEdit can do that (however, I think the buttons done by DVD Styler are very basic).

Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD can do transitions in the video itself, but it is not free, and somewhat limited (only one audio stream, no subtitles...)Comment

Have you checked out DvdAuthorGUI? I'm sorry, I don't have a link for you, but you should be able to find it easily enough.
I have to admit I haven't done more than make a very simple trial dvd with it, but I like the interface much better than Styler's, and it claims it will do simple motion menus.
It's worth a shot, anyway.

I use DVDauthorGUI like Laysan_A, but I don't make menus just author with chapters so it just starts when put in player. If you want chapters I find that it only makes them for 75% of the movie then you can manually enter the time code to get them till the end of the DVD (i.e 5 minute chapters) I see it has the menu ability though. I really like the program, I use windos ProjectX to demux the .mpeg then convert the audio to AC3 and onto DVDauthorGUI.Comment

ProjectX link to Zip file
@techreactor
I know it is a java program but I was directed to a compiled version (I use XP Media Center) that runs under windows. I really like it you can change the view so it looks more like a windows GUI program. I got the link from calimari, here is the post and the link to the compiled version is 1/2 way down the page, it is a zip file. Love the program, quite fast.
EDIT: all programs are free windows OS pgms.Comment

Hi techreactor,
No, his link was the right one. If you look about halfway down the page you'll see a link in one of sharc's posts with the word "liquid" in it. Liquid is the developer of DvdAuthorGUI.

By the way, I just downloaded ProjectX to give it a try. I've been using The Film Machine to transcode to m2v, ac3. It's a GUI frontend for a bunch of different projects, and while it's not very configurable, it seems to make the right choices.Last edited by Laysan_A; 28 Mar 2007, 07:59 PM.Comment

@techreactor
DVDAuthorGUI is a windows pgm. I got it from the videohelp site I think.
@Laysan_A
I use Sonic to make a .mpeg from a sat. capture the large file and demux with projectX, then convert audio to ac3 with another prgm (can't remember it sothing like fftt in the name, got it from vieohelp.com) since the audio files size is 1/2. Then I use DVDAuthour GUI to make the DVD files, then use DVD-Rebuilder with HCenc to encode or if in a rush use DVDShrink with DA and AEC settings, but DVDRB output is better.Comment
