    FallenAngel
With respect to Japanese BMP files --

Currently, TW calls Japanese BMP files by Japanese filenames.
I however wish TW would call Japanese BMP files by English filenames (such as PlayAll.bmp, Scenes.bmp, etc). This is because it is inconvenient to change filenames whenever Japanese strings in Japanese.txt are edited according to user's preference. And trouble sometimes happens when Japanese strings are used as filenames.

    Regards

Understood -- done here -- same problem exists for english (Didn't think of that)
Recoded here -- I'll need the bmps renamed to english before I can upload 7_10_2 though.

I'm not afraid. Large part of hardware DVD players available in Japan have a screen saver. And large part of commercial DVDs available in Japan return from the last chapter/title to the root/title menu.

And large part of screens are now plasma! With a static menu, a turn off timer is essential IMHO.

I know. Sorry, but as my method rebuilds the authoring completely, obviously any previous authoring is lost.
I might write a new function to implement the arrow keys in a way compatible with TW's authoring, but it will be necessary to apply it after the TW authoring has been applied. Anyway, I prefer to wait till the final version of TW is released, as I will have to rely on a stable authoring.

Blutach -- hmm -- non static background menus -- actually I'm so close its ridiculous.
But No I think I'll call the generics done -- I can't think of anything more to add.

Rolz -- How in the hell are you going to add such options to a TW menu (or to a TW imported Original menu)
-- They are so interrelated --You would have to wipe out(or match) the g0,g1 logic and still come up with Tw's VMGM switcher (or call into TWs VMGM routines)(or step right off the edge as I did and recreate the whole schmear)

About the only intrinsic changes I plan is to clean up the Prior Movie last chapter Commands to a sensible Schema. (Its hell without the DVD goto commands)

Either via DVDAuthor (And I think I've pushed that app beyond the edge) or internally in TW main The G0,G1 logic (and numbers/states will remain the same)

Duplicating the new PgcEdit's additional remote options -- No I'm not going there
(Not sure I'm really comfortable going that far away from the original remote button functions.)

This "little" menu generator has grown into a monster -- with so many options Now.

And at the end of the day these menus are quite tiny -- hardly worth reducing the burn target size to make room for them

I plan 1 more testbed to verify the changes I've made today.

              (Updated Save/Load menu as template)

and the changes for Castro -- What a Mess those WinAvi menus/ifo structure are
(all I'm doing is completely wiping out the old TTn commands -- And replacing with the "Squish" equivalents -- Then My GetVtsSectors to clean up their other mistakes)
              KISS KISS
Should probably for elegance also replace the Vmgm FP also -- But TW will step on that when it makes a menu --wasted code)

              -- then a release

And a fairly long Miller Time

                Well, I really don't know!
I have to analyze your logic first. But if it's too complex, I can probably add some dummy and use my own GPRMs to implement the arrow buttons. Anyway, I can't promise!

BTW, I have implemented your idea of the UP and DOWN arrows (but I did it the other way: LEFT jumps to the beginning of the previous title, and UP jumps to the last chapter of the previous title.) See the other thread for details...

                      Thanks for TestBed7_11.
I modified folder construction a little.
9 bitmap files of buttons for English move new folder "English" under "Menufiles".
and files for Japanese in new folder "Japanese" under "Menufiles".
It is easy to use for me to alter language.

                      I have a request.
"Preview" button is also in "DVD Menu Color, Style Options" ?
Now must "Return To Thumbnail View" for preview each time.

                      Regards.

Hi all - REAL newbie here.

First, I would like to thank FallenAngel for a GREAT program. The hours it has saved people from having to re-type titles into their DVD jukeboxes are unmeasureable.

I have been able to use the program to add a title to a DVD which is then recognized by my new Sony CX995. At first I failed, but I was only able to do it after reading the (very long) previous thread here and finding that TW was a POST shrink program.

I looked for (I think) Cynthias tutorial in the FAQ section but I couldn't find it.

So, although this is a newbie question - I have at least tried to figure it out myself.

What I'm trying to do is: Simply add a title to my DVD ********* ripped set of VOB files already on my computer (with the fewest steps possible) and then burn that to a DVD.

                        1. I rarely shrink files anymore, although I do use DVD ***** to author them (full backup.) I have the option checked to enable Nero burning in DVD *****.

It seems with this checked - the title is not written on the DVD.

                        2. I have the path to DVD ***** added to TW and the icon shows up on the menu bar. When I click that it asks me if I want to shrink the files - and I really dont.

                        3. I have Nero 6.6.

So what I would like is a simple step by step process (or link to one) to add a title to my existing files and then burn them.

I think with all the options that are now available in TW, I'm just getting lost.

Again I'm sorry if this is a stupid question and many thanks to FallenAngel for his excellent program.

                        GLT

Glt -- well there is a help system in place
                            MenuBar Help >>Help Titlewriter

Some advice -- Lose Nero(POS) -- Use Imgburn (lose the Burn Option in Squish)
Add ImgBurn to Titlewriters Tools (Click View Tools) (See Help>>Useful stuff I give an Imgburn command string)
Open your DoDo'ed Compiliation in TW
Optional -- (Hit the Squish Icon -- IF you need to transcode and Squish to target folder)
Note: Use DVDTExt volume name (Spaces as Underscores) as Squish Target folder -- TW will auto add that name to DVDTEXT area as volumename

                            When done
Click Menu/Text Icon on Menubar (Until you see DVDText area)
Edit as you will (I'm fairly sure the 900series juke will only recognize DVDVolume name -- not the second line as in prior models)
                            Save Changes
Click the ImgBurn Icon (should now be on TWs menubar)
                            Done

                            (Essentially 3 Steps)

I'm getting the impression that I should Move the bitmaps/"language".txt file defaults to 1 folder under menulanguages
and dump everything in there (instead of menufiles and menulanguages)
and just leave the backgrounds and buttons in menufiles
