Vobblanker - Tried to replace menu but failed

    Hi.

I tried to replace a menu background (for languages menu) with a modified one in VOBBLANKER. I already have Vobblanker linked to Muxman.

The original languages menu was a stills menu & has no audio in background.

    1. I click on the TitleSet where the languages menu can be found which is in VTS_01_*.VOB.
    2. I click on the menu button on the right
    3. Click on the English language & choose the PGC with the menu I wanted to change which is PGC 04
    4. Click on Cells button & click on PRG 1 which where the menu is
    5. Click on Still button, choose File & select the revised .BMP menu background , click OK/Apply/OK
    6. Tick the following settings:
    - Process Titles
    - Process Menus
    - Remove PUOPs in VOBs
    - Remove PUOPs in IFOs
    7. Click on Process button & wait.

After process ended, I tested the revised DVD & it still got the old original language menu!

So what did I do wrong here?

    Here's the Process Log:
    Version 2.1.3.0. Starting new process:

First, you can tick "Use Input Folder", untick "Process Titles" and only select the VTSs you want to work on. This make the process finish a LOT quicker.

VTS 01: Cell Based Menu LU 01, PGC 04
    Skiping already processed cell # 1, VID=7 CID=1

    VTS 01: Keeping Cell VID/CID: 07/01 --> 07/01
It seems that it has skipped what you want to do - had you already processed this cell and not closed and re-opened VobBlanker?

      Blanking & Menu replacing

      Hi

      Yeah I kinda did!

After ripping the DVD to my HDD, I put it though VOBBLANKER and did blanking, stripping (of unwanted audios) & menu replacing in one process.

This first output blanked what I wanted but didn't replace my new menu so I used that output for menu replacing again (which is what I said in the 1st post making this the 2nd output).

I didn't tick use input folder because I didn't want to overwrite things in case it went wrong [which it did!]. Is that ok?

Do I need to start all over again one press at a time?

Yeah, just run the replace again. I always use Input folder - that way, things are kept together and you only process what you need to. Also tick and save to registry under "More" the 2 bottom left options - Use backup folder in VIDEO_TS and Multiple backup folders. This way, you never lose anything till you decide to delete the project after burning.

As well, I always leave the PUOps unticked, as I usually set my own in PgcEdit - your choice, but remember, if you have a DVD with Angles/ILVUs (which VobBlanker doesn't handle anyway), this can cause unintended consequences.

Tried replacing menu only - Still didn't work

          Hi

I even tried replacing menu first (no stripping, no blanking) with VOBBLANKER but still nothing works.

I did ticked use input folder & got a backup. Now I wanna keep the original & deleted the new output so where's my original DVD ... in the backup folder? Can I delete the DVd outside the backup folder?

Yeah - in the backup folder. Copy all the files in there into the project folder and you're back to square 1.

              So what's next?

              Hi.

So what what can I try next? Can I replace the menu background with PGCEDIT or anything else?

When I choose a BMP file, the path on the "browse" part then says the "temp working folder" I chose in settings earlier and always ends wih .VOB. I thought it should end with .BMP as I chose a BMP file.

Just substitute the BMP and ensure your temp and muxman paths are set up right. Choose "file" as you did and browse to it. Works for me

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

Personally, instead of using the file dialog, I drag and drop the BMP over the "still" window. You should see the change immediately in the preview. OK your way to the main window, untick "process titles" but be sure tu enable "process menus" and "use input folder" and mark the relevant VTS to be processed. All other VTSs can be skipped. Click the PROCESS! button, and reload your DVD in a player to verify.
Also, follow blutach's advice about the backup options, for safety.
