I want to remove the audio from my holiday DVDs and edit the subsequent MP3 file that I am left with. Something very simple where I can select a section of audio by playing it and choosing the start and end position and then create a separate MP3 file from that and edit it if required. Any advice on which is the best software to use please ?

Goldwave has a very long "trial" period to allow you to work with your files. I am pretty sure Audacity will work w/ vob files too, it is freeware.Comment

Any other thoughts on a good way to separate the audio from a DVD movie? I have a live band DVD that I want to export the audio from so I can listen to it in my car.Comment

PgcDemux is certainly the best demuxer. It works, trust me. But it extracts the stream, usually in AC3 format, not a file ready to be played. You might have to convert it to another format to play it everywhere.Comment
