    pal -> ntsc AND region 2 -> region 1

    Is there a backup program that will allow your change signal and the region code? Thanks for anyone who can help.

    While you can readily change the region code with programs such as DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink, I'd personally be hard pressed to think of an EASY way to convert a DVD between NTSC and PAL formats (Of course, some other poster may be able to provide just such a solution - perhaps using IFOEdit)...

        PAL -> NTSC conversion

        OK, I'm a newbie, so bear with me.
        Bought a movie in Europe (PAL) and needed to convert it to NTSC
        I had to use TMPEnc, which does that wonderfully. (I used demo trial licence, since it was all I needed).
        Had to convert to AVI first though, so

        DVDShrink / DVD Decrypter
        DVD2AVI (Used MPEG4 crisp 100% 5000bps)
        TMPEnc (Which gave me m2p, basically MPEG-2)
        Burned it using MyDVD (I didn't care about menu's and stuff)

        There must be ways to go back to VOB's on your HD, but I do not know how.

        Cheers,
        me

          Either "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (different than "TMPGEnc") or "DVDLab"...
