ROXIO really does suck ...
That is ... from my experience. I will not bore you with the details, but I just came out of a three week ordeal that involved ROXIO. It works just fine on its own ... the problem is that it seems to cause havoc with everything else. I had problems with Nero ... PhotoShop (the world's most supported and stable application!!) ... and believe it or not, the damn thing even messed with my mouse. Uninstalling it is a a real ordeal and to completely get rid of it requires extensive knowledge of the Registry ... I know because that is how I FINALLY dumped it ... by manually cleaning up the Registry. One poster said he used ROXIO because it came with his Sony burner. That surprised me because my Sony DRU-530A burner seemed to have a personal case of the ass with ROXIO ... it hated it. In any case, I am finally happy with ROXIO in my past where it will remain.
