Power calibration errors are usually caused by incompatible media, try a different make of disc. If that doesn't cure it go to windows update for wmp 9, or try burning with another program.
If you go to your PC website you will see if there is any firmware updates for your writer.

Two things you should be looking @

      ~One, Clean the laser...
~Two, download the most recence version os your ASPI.
~Three, if it needs be update your firmware if you can, it will mean more supported media and more reliability, @ least it's the theory behind it.

Too find out more about ASPI visit:

      For Firmware updates visit:

For cleaning the laser visit your local electronics shop...

It is my priority to give you the best advice I now about... I've had problems too of diferent kinds...

I found out that I could cure them, fix or go crazy...

The last I did a lot of, followed by cure it, and fixing it... All my system came from factory OEM (except the upgrades I done) and as far as I can tell if you create a backup of everything before you update, you will allways have something to go back to... lesson number 1 (backup)

It's rarely the case that you have to but if you take the possible solutions out of the equation because of hear say than your knowledge of what you have and can achieve , will never be known... lesson nr 2 (test your hardware and find out everything about it.)

Sure there are risks, but it's in the thousands, even millions against a bad update, but it seems to me unless you want to dish out and get it done by a qualified person, than let me ask you, Why did you come here??? lesson number 3 Update...
