But it certainly WOULD play both Region 2 and Region Free - which are all that IPAQ appears to have stated...

I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that there might be some more discs that are neither R2 nor all-region. Either way, there seems to be some contradiction here because the original poster seem to be very concerned about the region issue while all the discs play fine everywhere, so this can't be it.
