DVDShrink3.2 Invalid filename on start up Cannot find file specified HELP PLESE

Hi, I've been using the 3.0 version fine for the last months. recently just have XP system upgraded service package. Now when I clik on DVD Shrink it show:
DVD shrink encountered an eror and cannot continue:
    Invalid filename
    system cannot find file specified.

I used the newer 3.2 and it works fine the first time around but when I clik on the short cut the same message came up. I reinstalled 3.2 version again and it could only work once. after I close the program, I tried to open it up again the same message comes up.

Does this mean I will have to install 3.2 everytime I need to use dvd shrink?

Make sure you have the latest DirectX installed. If you have Nero - update it.

"when I clik on the short cut the same message came up."

Try clicking on the ACTUAL .EXE file instead...

Think your XP installation is to be reinstalled...

Your error is not related to DVDShrink.

                  Suspect you de-installed SP2?

Yes ma'm it was the sp2 of XP.

I have to test it with directly cliking on the exe file with the error message. then I run it with the new "run as" option, it locked the program out due to virus suspicion. It also does it with many other programs with exe. so I killed the sp2...

                    Thanks cynthia.

by the way, I do have another question. My NEC 2510A drive could not detect new DVD inserted for autoplay. Even the disc is from Blockbuster. However, I could burn it 8X normally!!!

When I put a movie in that dives it read as no disc inside the drive!!!

I installed the new firmware twice, no effect. I need your expert opinion on this thanks.

The firmware you installed should be either 2.06 or 2.16 depending on previous installed version.

it's 2.16, the newest one. Still not reading.

I turned on DMA already too.
                        Cleaned lens too.

If you put in a DVD in our Nec - can you see anything on the disc by watching it thru windows filemanager? My guess is no.

I think you only have Nero ASPI installed. Nero/DVDDecrypter/DVDShrink uses that one if there is no other on the system.

                          I don't think Windows uses that one. You could try to install this one;

I have installed SP2 and DVD Shrink still works great. The problem may be in the way XP was loaded at first. I know you said you did a virus check, but did you download the latest updates for your virus program before scanning.

                              Yes sir,

I think sp2 limits the acess to exe files, even its own. I had problem open up exel and word files as well. I have to go to the actual exe file and right clik on it to " run as" then designate my user name and password for the file to run!!! and no options to re run the file after that using, thus have to do that everytime.

I did have the latest virus updates
