    Making coasters again, help!

    Urgh. Okay.

My previous problems were while I was home, I was burning "successfully" and when I would verify the copy it would give me read errors.

I updated my firmware and the problem went away.

I had taken my NEC 2510A home with me, flashed it on my other computer, and was able to burn problem free with RiData media.

Now however, I've brought the burner back to my dorm room, and after hooknig it back up to my computer, started burning with new found confidence. That is, until, I got the same problems. Near the very end of the verification process I get Read errors. Same burner, same media.

My computer is an AMD 64 3200, gig of ram, 128mb ATI 9800pro, Asus k8n-E mobo with nforce3, and a 160GB Western Digital SATA hard drive.

Please help! This will drive me crazy!!! Thank you!

Edit: I forgot to mention, using DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter burn. (just like at home )

"using DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter burn."

Try using "Nero" to burn instead of DVD Decrypter. Save the project in Shrink as a regular "DVD Package" (e.g., IFO, BUP, and VOB files in a VIDEO_TS folder) and NOT as an ISO image file.

Have you checked that you have DMA enabled? Your OS may have defaulted back to PIO mode.

Checked that too. Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra33 on the secondary channel.

My SATA drive is also on the secondary SATA channel, running at Serial ATA DMA.

Thanks for your continued help, I hope one of these suggestions hits paydirt.

You have the same version of ASPI installed in both computers?

                      "refresh my memory"

                      A subtle computer-related joke?

And to questions that we don't have an answer for: "Out of memory".
