You've only got 1 hard drive and 1 DVD drive. Each are configured as masters on the primary (DVD) and secondary channel (hard drive). There is no slave (device 1) on either channel. Nothing to worry about in respect of DMA.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why I couldn't change it. I think it was greyed out.

I do have a DVD drive on my laptop (read only though) and the DVD writer is connected via my USB 2.0 port. Will this make any difference?

I take it you've looked at my attached Nerorecod.txt file rather than the log print out at the top of the start of this thread?

Does anyone think it may be firmware? I've downloaded the current version of Nero and DVD Decrypter so I'm assuming I can rule these 2 out of the equation?

Hi friends.. i'm using acer travelmate 5700 laps.. when i started to burn files using nero7 i got a error message that "Burn process failed at 8xspeed".. so i'm upgraded my nero to Nero 10 version but now itself also it says the same error message ly... here is the log file
