In that screen shot you posted, what program is giving you that error message?

Why are you using Nero Showtime? Just use DVD Shrink to back this movie up.

I do use shrink to backup the movie. The error is when I go to play back the movie.

Nero Showtime is not designed to play back the movie. Use a software DVD player, such as WinDVD or PowerDVD. You can even use DVD Shrink, in the preview window. Right click and select "Full Screen"

That does not help my problem, it does it with all playback software.

Uninstall Showtime, reboot, then use a actual software DVD player.

THat doesn't resolve the problem with my home dvd player not having audio as well.

I'm afraid I'm out of suggestions then, if you refuse to try what I suggest. It is not DVD Shrink that is causing problems. DVD Shrink does what it is told to do by the operator (you). I suggest start over from scratch using just DVD Shrink.

When playing on your standalone DVD player, have you tried using either the remote control button ("Language" or "Audio") or the DVD's onscreen menu to select a different audiostream?

                            yes, that doesn't help either.
