Ritek Ridata brand, Verbatim, Tayio Yuden is supposedly the best. Although, just cause the name of the DVD brand is on the outer labeling, doesn't necessarily mean they are that type of brand. Go here to check the media ID (Its the first "Sticky" (Post): http://forum.digital-digest.com/foru...?s=&forumid=69

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner. That will ensure more media compatibility.

Installing your firmware:

1. Don't run any other programs at the same time
2. Don't have any disc in your burner at the same time
3. Restart your PC after you have flashed it.

Go here to update your firmware: http://www.herrie.org/firmwares/nec1300.html

Do not post the same message in multiple forums or duplicate messages in the same forum. - it will only mean that the people who frequently visits these forums (ie. the very people that can help you) will be annoyed by your multiple posting and will ignore you, or worse, delete your posts if they were admin/mods.

I already deleted your other thread.

"Illegal disc"

Are you trying to burn a disc that you've previously tried to burn?

Sorry about the multiple threads I thought maybe different people look at them. It won't happen again.

This is my very first time trying to burn the disk. I used the instructions off of here on how to use Nero to burn the disk and followed all of those instructions.

Thank you everyone. I think I might have also figured out when I have it in DVD shrink I was not choosing the option that asks burn to nero. I am trying it with a different one right now we will see how that works. If it works I will delete the other two that I downloaded and try it this way. Thanks for all the help. If I still can't figure it out I am sure I will be back

I was just wondering how to tell what kind of DVD burner I have. We got the computer and it already had one in it.
