    The Latest...
Didn't receive the message above until I went ahead and dumped the file.
    Manually deleted PXHELP20.SYS
Cleaned my system and registry with ACE UTILITIES
    Rebooted
Burned a Disk as suggested via iso file.
Haven't watched it yet, but here's the log file...
    Anybody see any problems?

Everything looks fine up until this line, I still don't know exactly what this error is telling us. I've compared your log to one of my ISO burns, here is my Item #15

As you can see this block in my log gets the physical media info. It's been mentioned around here that DVD-R won't give media specific info, but I would still expect to see the manufacturers name and some basic info here.

The only other thing I can think of, and one of the other differences between our logs is the ASPI versions. I've read time and time again that ASPI 4.60 is recommended over the newer versions due to conflicts. Your system is using ASPI 4.71 see the 3rd line in the log here:</not></atapi></tdk>
      WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0002), size=45056 bytes, created 7/17/2002 9:20:56 AM
You'll also see in the next line that Nero uses it's own ASPI here:
      ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 6:35:34 PM
However, to eliminate the possibility of a compatability issue I'd like you to change your system ASPI to 4.60. Please see this page for the instructions and to download ForceASPI v7.</atapi> You won't need the ASPICHK program mentioned on the page, Nero Info Tool will give you the same info in it's ASPI tab. <atapi>Please note this line in the instructions:</atapi>
Some people report better success by running <code>killASPI</code> before running <code>instASPI</code> when newer ASPI drivers (such as v4.71.2) have been installed.<atapi></atapi>
So I would run them in this order:
      • Run <code>dumpASPI</code> to backup your current ASPI layer
      • Run <code>killASPI</code> to halt the v4.71 ASPI layer<code></code><code></code>
      • Run <code>instASPI</code> to install the new ASPI layer
      • Reboot
      • Run Nero Info Tool to verify v4.60 installation
<atapi>If you want to read more about ASPI follow the link at the bottom of the page leads to comprehensive Radified Guide to ASPI Layer Drivers.

Just got done playing the disk, and the last 30 minutes skipped around like crazy -- not even viewable.
I'm about ready to throw in the towel, and pursue another pastime, like fishing or something.
Ya don't think its my discs so ya?
I've been using Khypermedia DVD+R's 4X Data disks from Tiger Direct??

The highlighted above interprets to "Invalid field in CDB"

CDB (command descriptor block) : The command descriptor block (CDB) is a data structure defined by the SCSI specification for communicating commands to SCSI devices You send a CDB to a SCSI device using the SCSICmd function. The size of the CDB structure can be 6, 10, or 12 bytes, depending on the number of parameters required by the command. The first byte specifies the command, and the remaining bytes contain parameters.

These highlighted bytes below in CDB Data are your transfer length parameter.

            CDB Data: 0xAD 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x08 0x04 0x00 0x00
And must be a multiple of 2048 (decimal) which is also your Drive buffer.

            Drive buffer : 2048kB
            0x804 = 2052 (decimal)

0xAD is your Operation Code (Op code) for "Read DVD Structure".

Personally, I suspect a software problem, Nero or your firmware. One or both are corrupted.

Depends on the MID, it seems they could be either CMC MAG.F01 or MCC.....002 in other words either junk or very good. I'd suggest picking up a few R/W disks locally until the burn issue is resolved.

@2COOL, that is useful information, and I know that HA = Host Adapter, but what is TA, this seems to be indicating a check condition failure?
              TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
@joakers, I would suggest as a test to physically disconnect the CD drive and the Scanner and after you reboot make sure they aren't shown in Device manager. Then do a test burn to a R/W disc.

Don't quote me on this as I was Googlin' a lot of times on it but I'm beginning to think it means TArget ID or SCSI Drive ID? Sorry, I'm not a SCSI specialist.

Found more info on Status codes above. See page 25 in this PDF. You should peruse through this as it also gives good information on other SCSI subjects.

@2COOL, thanks I think you're right on. Also looks like I just found an ASPI/SCSI bible for Win32 http://www.zianet.com/jgray/dat/files/ASPI32.pdf

thanks Taelon for the link. Just for clarification with reading the document...

                        TA stands for TArget

                        With that said...

SRB_Target (Input) = SCSI ID of target device.

Thanks 2COOL for the clarification. So let me try to summarize what we know.

                          5:22:46 PM #15 SCSI -1066 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1180
SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x0C860600
Nero is communicating with Host Adapter #1 (secondary IDE)
Which is Target #0 (DVD burner), Logical Unit Number 0

                          Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
This Indicates a SCSI Error of some sort

                          HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
                          The Host Adapter is OK

                          TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
The Last SCSI command was to Check the Condition of the Target Device

                          Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)
There was an Illegal Request on the SCSI Bus

                          Sense Code: 0x24
Unknown meaning at this time, see Sense Data

                          Sense Qual: 0x00
Also still unknown at this time

                          CDB Data: 0xAD 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x08 0x04 0x00 0x00
                          Sense Data: 0x70 0x00 0x05 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0A
                          0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x24 0x00
See 2COOL's post above for more CDB Data info

Since the error is an Illegal Request, it's possible that when the Check Condition was sent to the DVD-Burner, one of the other devices gave a response, which of course was illegal. As I mentioned earlier, I think you should disconnect the other Optical drive and scanner and see if this error still occurs.
