ok...this is my problem. My fiance's mom is really into christmas movies so for a christmas present i decide to take her movies she recorded onto VHS and edit out the commercials and put them on a DVD with a Simple selection menu. The program i was using is Intervideo Windvd Creator. So i finish the movie and try to burn and it says that it couldn't complete burn process due to "some error." So i figure that it's just the program having some kind of glitch. I output the dvd to a file and try to burn it with roxio only to figure out after i successfully burned that i burned it as a data disk(the roxio i have doesn't support dvd format) so i finally break down and use some other editing software that i really don't like. well after i edit it and try to burn it....it tells me i need to insert a blank disk. I just bought 50 Staples brand DVD+R disks and it gives the same message with all of them. I am using a Sony DW-D26A in a Hako external case with a USB port....My laptop is a compaq presario R3000 and i am running Windows XP....anyone got any suggestions?....please i really need your help i have like 50 more movies to edit and burn(as you all know....time consuming lol) if you have any suggestions you think i might wanna read please send them to my email( ashron64 AT gmail.com ) I don't have many opportunities to get on here....your help is very much appreciated. Thank you!

so you have inserted a blank media but the burning tool doesnt recognise the media?
first of all: please get yourself a RW media for testing dvd content - this pays i tell you
next you might try to output/convert the (hopefully dvd compliant) data to ISO in order to try another burning application that the experienced uses in this forum will recommend: IMGBURN
it's freeware and most likely the best and most reliable you could use
changing the burning application might help but in the end your burner simply may not like the very blank media which you bought
a firmware update COULD help but is a certain risk on the other hand
you should google and see if other user successfully used the media you have in combination with your burner -
ok so i use Intervideo Windvd creator and try and output the dvd to a file. It saves it as some weird file extension that i havn't seen before.....not as an image....so IMGBURN will not even import it to burn.....because it isn't an image file....windvd creator will not output it as an image so i can't make IMGBURN work with it....any free programs you can think of that i can use to make the movie and try to burn it....or to output it to a file as an image and then burn using IMGBURN?....lemme know if you have any more suggestionsComment
