Are DVD+R discs on sale?

And the firmware does not need to be that new if you have a 16X burner like I do

That would depend upon who made the burner, when it was programmed and
whose making the verbs this month! Nothing much to do with your burners
speed. Yes 16x burners have newer firmware, define newer, vbg!

LOL. I have a Samsung 16X burner that I bought for $50. It is called TSST-Corp something or other. I normally burn at 8X since I only have 8X discs LOL but it is made to burn fine at 16X as well.

what's funny?

initial firmware
"Does notsupport Mt. Rainier
Only 40x burn speed on CD-R
Questionable DVD-R and CD-RW writing quality
Questionable DVD+R 16x quality
Poor media compatibility
Write some certified media at lower speed
No bitsetting on DVD+R/R9 DL/RW media
Read CD-RW discs at 32x only
8x reading speed on DVD+R/RW/DL & DVD-R/RW media "

I prefer these the best: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...onics&v=glance

Personally, I think this is a better choice for 2 reasons - 1. They are cheaper 2. If you guys all say to burn at 4x (I burn at 8x and it works fine), why pay more for 16x discs? Memorexes are the best - at least I have had no problems at 8x on these - went a whole 50 pack without a single coaster. Can't say the same on the Philips though.

BTW That is not the drive I have - it is called TSST-Corp not TS-something. Here is the one I have:

I bought it there too - works perfectly!

BTW the site does not say this but the technical name is: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U

there were so many problems with the initial B model they released the U model.
And..... there are still problems.

I have a question I was looking up to see if I have the latest firmware and it states that I do and its JS04 so I go do a search and I find a bunch of flip flop statements others say they think ES04 is the newest well I went on and did some more reading and I come across people saying Benq 1625 BBHA is the newest now I am all lost. Can someone that has or that is familiar with the HP Writer 640c help me out and give me a concrete answer on what the latest firmware is it would be greatly appreciated.I did check this Site should I just go by what it says it has both ES04, JS04

@BR7 - according to HP here if it identifies as revision c then it takes you here where it looks like the latest official fw for 640c is JS04.
