RITEK DL's at NEW EGG

Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting these Dual Layer DVD's but I'm a bit tentative because I've heard mixed things about Ritek's DL media. I bought Ritek's single layer products and had no problems. Does anyone have any experience with these? Especially with a NEC 3540?

I have heard some good things about them, like all DL burns about half the people doing them hose a few disks, and 1/2 those quit.

@Blu I just thought the price was right. I did a quick search and the Verbatims were a lot more expensive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817130997. Where's a good place to buy them?

@TNT - I get mine here in OZ. Luckily I got about 20 for Dad's day back in September (they're A$51.00 delivered in packs of 10 with jewel cases from my online supplier, whom I trust implicitly).

I just did the conversion. Is that US$4.50 for 10 or 1? Never mind. You just changed the price on me. Hold on. Ok. US$38.22 for 10. Yeah, these are $1.60 a piece. That's less than half price! I can coaster twice as many! Newegg's service has been spot-on so I'm leaning towards buy.

TNT, I thought you were another of our english members, have you watched the sales recently, several times verbatims have been 10 for 20$.
I ordered 50 dvd+r's SL for 35$ from Newegg, then 3 days later local Office Max has them for 30$.

Have you ordered? I'd wait, especially since I read that the 25 packs are not RICOHJPND.

yes and the one's I am scanning and posting for Jmet over in blank media
and burning, actually duplicated a burn/scan of dee the lady who modded
the firmware I am using on my new 3550, she used 8x media tho.
Actually with this new burner the verb +'s are beating the -TY's.

In 2 years last night was the first time newegg failed to get me my order on time, they negotiated a crappy contract with UPS, dropping FedEx.
I want that power supply. ChiefValue, their sister company still uses fedex.

Yeah, UPS Sucks! Their nickname is Brown for a reason. I had the option of UP$h!t for 2 bucks or FedEx for 5.75. I reluctantly chose the cheaper option.

From what I have read ritek's trying to turn their slide downhill around,
especially with dual layer, my scans of old ritek SL have always been good.
The new ritek r04 16 dvd+r's are almost as good as verb's.
