Do CD-R's have MIDs?

Yeah but I don't like online media stores. Plus I don't like "shiny silver" media. Too hard to write on. I like the nice little lines that normal Verbatims have (and others).

Mine are not silver media; they are verbatim pastel disc (genuine Taiyo). I have no problem to write on them. And I bought from this store many times, and it is reliable. Take a look here to see these media

Go to www.microcenter.com, scroll down to Supplies, click on Media, then Brand Name CD-R, then click on where it says Brand and select Verbatim.

Well, they have about the same price of my discs, but mine are taiyo

They are expensive! I can buy 100 DVD+R's (Verbatim) for only a couple bucks more. What the heck!

Too bad quality media have higher prices

But if you consider that bad quality media must be rewritten after few time, they are not anymore so cheap, because you can buy one time good media or you can buy more than one time bad quality media.

For example, you can spend 100$ to buy very good discs that last for 5 years or you can spend 20$ to buy low quality media that must be rewritten after 6 months, so to have the same durability in time or 5 years you must spend 200$ with bad quality media (if I'm not wrong... calculations are not my strong )

Yeah but I got 1-year old backup discs that work fine. I mean, for backup, if you make new ones each year, who cares?

The point is that I make new backup each year. So if it goes bad, it doesn't matter. The thing is that all my RWs get really scratched too easily so I use -R's, but normally I only backup when I reformat (which has been 4 times in 4 years LOL)
