i don't even ask clerks at the stores for anything involving medias and such. i might as well ask a bum on the street. i collect whatever info i can and research it later with "the internets" or someone else.

As everybdy knows now it is not the brand name but the MID. The brand names have their media supplied by different manufacturers. A clue could be where they are made, Japan, India, Taiwan etc. Buy at store, save the receipt, if you don't like the way they work in your burner or player take em back. Most of the online stores will only replace with the same as the ones you purchased. The only way for sure we will know what we are buying is if they start putting the MID on the spindles where we can see it.
