        Thanks photo_angel2004! I went to the link and followed the instructions and that solved the problem! My writing speed went from 1.2k/s to 8.8k/s (and keeps increasing) and my computer seems to be running better.

        Since I saw that "DMA if available" was selected I did not look to see what mode it was actually in. Then when I reviewed the log before posting I caught that as well, but I didn't know what to do. Thanks for the help!!!
