when i try using the Nero CD/DVD Speed Test. it does the Benchmark test fine. but when i try and test the disc quality it keeps giving errors saying that it failed to initialize.

Can anyone explain how to interpret the graphs at the beginning of this thread?
ie what features of the graphs indicate a good/bad disc?

First and foremost, when shrinking, set it to 4200 to 4300 MB so the outer edge of the media is not used. When interpreting the graphs, ask CHEWY, he knows the answers. All I look at is the quality score of the disc

Those scans other than the zero rated TY burn look pretty good, even the CMC Mag isn't terrible.

I have circled the important parts. the 99 quality score was luck!

Only curious Chewy, the test says a BenQ was used. Maybe you clicked the wrong png, or I am not looking at the correct thing, but anyways the test looks awesome. Thanks for your help again.

Ben is the tester, Nec is the burner I believe

Benq's are premium scanners, I don't burn much with it, I got it to scan.
My LG and NEC's do the burning. I always name my scans when I save them,
like nec3550_8xburn

the key to the burn was the media and the 8x burn speed and a lot of luck
