          my 4550 gives me these speeds and 4550/4551 are identical except for labelflash which i'm not interested in:

            I confirm that NEC scan capabilities are not seen so good at CDF (I'll not say to Franksoy, promised ). These scans are not so bad. I must say that I'm starting to consider to buy a NEC too. I need to do some readings at CDF

            At CDF scans with NEC drives are done @5x

            cynthia, do you have a liteon drive?

                        depends upon the drive, as you can see Cynthia's does fine at 12x, but I would stay at 8x like my nec 3550.

                        but a liteon is a must!
                        maybe for scanning, not burning

                            Yes, but that's a 1693, and a good one! I double those PIF totals to
                            equate to a 8ecc scan. And the PIF max's on the T02 would be 8 not 2
