DvD would not burn at all

Hi this is my first post here. I'm having difficulties burning some of my movies. I tried using Nero recode 2 and the burning would not start. I keep geting an error messages such as i need to put a blank dvd when i did. So i try using Nero burning rom and pretty much got the same error message. I followed the instruction post here to burn my movie, but without success.

Basically, i used dvd shrink to store movies in my hard drive. The movies in my hard drive played well with my power dvd. The dvd media i am using is Memorex DVD+R. The DVD burner i'm using is emprex.

I'm not sure what im doing wrong, can someone explain what i can do about this? I have tried buring other stuff using a cdr and cdrw, but i can't burn movies onto my dvd+r.

It seems that there are quite a few people having the same problem with flashing the DVDRW IDE1004's firmware. Please read more information about that:

Since we don't own a burner like your, it's impossible for us to download and test the firmware, and make a correct suggestion about that. Flashing firmware is also risky too and your drive can be damage by a bad flash. You have to decide yourself. If you do want to try the Dangerous Brothers RPC1 firmware, you can go to the link below and look for the "BTC DRW 1004IM (DVDRW IDE 1004)" and download and try the version 0051. Good luck

Very sorry that at the beginning I thought your drive was BTC DRW 1004IM (DVDRW-IDE1004). That why I posted the link with the firmware version 0251. The last firmware version for Emprex DVDRW 1004IM (EDW4020) is 0051. You can download it here:

If you are worried, follow instructions but flash from safe mode. Make sure spyware is disabled.
