verbatim pastel discs are really difficult to find here

I'll try to find some TYG02, but they are almost ran out.

At cdfreaks shop there are plextor 16x discs (genuine taiyo), but firmwares don't support correctly these media (at least not benq 1640 firmwares)

benq yuden? I didn't knew that benq media were taiyo (never seen one ).

Media durability is related both to media quality and to media storing.

The lesser errors there are after burning, the higher is probability that media will be readable after many years.

In cdfreaks some users posted scans of old media (3 years or more), and some of these scans are really good.

A proper storing of media give a longer durability in time.

All benq branded media I saw until now are bad quality discs. They have "Daxon" mediacode. Some have "Sony" mediacode, but most I saw are daxons

Open image in windows paint and delete label overwriting with a black square.

For next scans you can set options like in image I posted, so label will be not showed

Ok I did a burn of king kong shrunk down too fit a 4.7 gig disc and with the lite-on burned @12x, and had great results, did numerous tests on old discs i have done in the past and other than some Maxells with an id of PRODISC i have gotten the best score with nero cd-dvd speed, it had a score of 93 where the maxell came out at 96. i have also updated the firmware in the burner since i have done king kong and am going to try another burn. I'll let you know what the results are.
