how can I tell if a DVD is NTSC or PAL, and what the region is?

I burned a couple of ISOs to DVD that play fine on computer DVD players, but not on my home DVD equipment. Is there a utility that can give me compatibility data such as NTSC/PAL, region, and encryption type? I'm wasting a lot of media trying to debug this.

I'm in the USA; not sure which region that is. I don't have the case, only the ISO. After burning it to DVD and sniffing the disk with DVD Decrypter, I find that there is no copy protection on the disk nor is there a region set. Could this be a PAL format? How can I tell?

How is it that you have only the .ISO?
USA is region 1

Open the DVD with DVD Decrypter in File mode can see the region, RCE Protection, and by right-clicking the disc content and selecting the Stream Processing, you can easily see DVD format to be PAL or NTSC

Andrew, if you don't have the DVD just an ISO (without copy protection or region set), it implies you don't own this DVD. We do not support illegal copying of DVDs.
