All of the Sony 16x Accu, +R that I have seen are (as you stated) MIT but the -R are MIJ. At least the ones I have and have seen.
Nero CD-DVD Speed, a great tool

I read the thread on pioneer 111 on CDF, and I found that it's a very good burner for DL discs.
The bad thing is that I need also a new HDD, and I can't afford both the pio111 and the HDDComment

Ok did some test trying to burn at 16x the second burn did better than the first. First time for this particular media. defragged(as best it would) the volume before attempting, turned off all programs except my virus/firewall running in my sys tray. I'm wondering if this PIII 733mhz 512 ram is maybe a bit physically challenged trying to write this fast???....
read over @cdfreaks about a test program of online hyper tuning for this type of burner, hmmmmmm....... Maybe i have Just a tad too much time on my hands but at least this hobby keeps me out of trouble.Attached Files- LITE-ON_DVDRW_SHW-160P6S_PS0A_16x test.png (54.9 KB, 214 views)

geno,
I would like to ask you a big favor when you get time
please post some sets of quality scans of identical disks (liteon & benq)
would be very interested to see some done where pif totals were in hundreds and low thousands
just 2 sets would be fine
say a grade B burn and a C burn
litey scans at 8x 1 ecc benq 8x 8eccComment
