Yep it sure does it just won't burn, I've even tried making a data DVD to transfer to my notebook which has a DVD Burner in that and I got the same error when making the Data DVD.

I should also like to note that I'm ripping a movie using DVDshrink, then running it through VobEdit then through Restream, finally through DVDAuthorGUI to add subtitles for it, normally I wouldn't have to run the file through Restream but I get an error if I don't.

So could this be the cause of my problem? Perhaps I should upgrade to Nero 7 which version of 7 would you suggest?
let's disregard all this as it has nothing at all to do with your problem

see this thread: http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...578#post222578 and use ImgBurn or DVDD
If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

that's a fairly old burner, with the latest firmware( Dec 04, 2004 )
                but it supports those blanks

have you tried any other dvd blanks?

I'm using Nero not Roxio so I have no idea why that's on my computer, I'll just upgrade to Nero 7 and see if that helps out the thing is I only get this problem when I run the ripped files through that Restream program.

Don't waste your money, use Nero Clean tools from my earlier post and then install version 6.6.0.18 as suggested. You also need to use the Roxio Zap proggy that Chewy linked you to or you may continue to have problems. Even if you upgrade to Nero 7, the problem drivers will still be there whether you know they are there or not.

                        CdRomPeripheral : PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-115 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
You also need to get this fixed. DMA should be enabled for all drives. To fix, uninstall driver via device manager and reboot...XP will reintall the correct drivers in DMA mode. I've read that one device in PIO mode may drag other devices down to their level....any truth Chewy?

I just finished working on an old compaq, it had a clean install of W2k,
everything was slow as molasses, hard drive was in dma mode ,but 3 other drives were pio mode, zip drive ok, but both optical including a 48x cd burner.

I figure the zip pulled the burner into pio mode with it, but the cdrom shouldn't have gone to pio on it's own. Then I checked the jumpers, hd was CS and cd-rom was slave. Do it right, the standard way or forget it, figure it out?, I gave up a long time ago.

You also need to use the Roxio Zap proggy that Chewy linked you to or you may continue to have problems. I can't seem to find 6.6.0.18 Nero took it off there site so unless someone has it archived at a diffrent site then I don't know where to get it. Thanks for the tip about the DVD-ROM it's been giving me some problems as of late.
