                Try rebooting the PC and see if it recognizes it then.

                  still crapola media tho, the transfer looked ok, the scan had that one bad spike, and that may have been the best disk in the spindle

                    The next time I go to Reno (85 miles away), I'll get a better media. For now, I have to use what's available in town.
