Burns always fail validation with Nero

    Hi everyone,

I've been researching my problem for weeks now, and I can't get any closer to a solution. I'm literally tearing my hair out.

I built this PC at Xmas, and since then, I haven't been able to burn DVDs. I have a Pioneer DVR-111D drive, and use Nero. It is the latest version.

Here is my error log, any help is much appreciated!

    Thanks.

Just guessing off the top of my head, your virtual drive is hosing the verifcation and possibly the burn as well.
You have 2 things also that you don't need, the aspi and scsiport.sys,
both may have come with the drive emulation software, what was it?

      Hi,

I use Alcohol 120% for drive Emulation, I will disable that feature and see if it helps.

      Thanks.

I tested the 2 latest versions of daemon tools last week, they seemed to be
noninvasive on the aspi or spti levels

when I see that aspi stuff anymore with windows xp I get concerned as most times it's lazy programming
where someone's just patching their stuff to run on a newer system

nero aspi for 6.6.0.18 and below stays in the nero folder and behaves itself, everybody else just
let's theirs run rampant on the system

slow burn speed down to 8x and skip verification and just check playability

Ok, I uninstalled Alcohol, which got rid of all virtual drives.

My burn still failed, however. Well, the burn was fine, but the data didn't match. Some of the files work, but some don't read properly, so something is going wrong somewhere.

I managed to remove the aspi driver, and the two "existing drivers" at the bottom of the log, so it's not them.

          I get a lot of:

          00:49:53 #121 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1200
          00:49:53.500 - D: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D : Queue again later

Do you know what is causing this?

          Thanks again for your help.

          Edit: Is this the problem?

          Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?

The question mark makes it look like it can't detect the ATAPI bus or whatever it is.

            try reinstalling nero
and use this tool to see the upper and lower filters

I don't really understand this filter stuff, but from the images it looks like I need a Lower Class Filter, and I don't have one.

So, er, how do I go about installing one?

              Cheers.

you don't need a lower class filter, filters can be bad

Is it safe to try a burn now, or do I need to install some Roxio software? I don't want to screw anything up.

                          Thanks very much.

                            NO!
no roxio, that's what screws up nero, and anything else if it can

                            Some call it Poxio

                            I just call it crap

8x burn, did you reinstall nero just to be safe?

Uninstalled Nero, used the Nero Cleaner tool, reinstalled... same problem still...

Have slowed down the burn speed, still nothing.

I also updated my IDE drivers, but it's still failing.
