very first burn on my brand new benq 1655 sony 1x-8x mij burned and scanned at8x

Sony 1X-16X, DVD-R, MID=TYG03, Made In Japan, write rate set in ImgBurn=20X, average Write rate=13.6X, maximum write rate=19.5X, 5 minutes 18 seconds to burn & then I verified.

I am honestly not sure of the speed, because I was to busy watching the PIF's go from pretty good to sh1t in a heartbeat.

cdspeed burns iso's but I would limit the max burn speed to 12x even if I had a 24X dvd burnerComment

So nero is better at 12X and Imgburn for 8X....of course, Sony for 12X and TY for 8X.

My humble take so far is good media plus ImgBurn at a reasonable write speed is the way to go. The TY's are rated 1X-8X. Both the Sony 1X-16X & Ty's are made in Japan. Of course this is only a couple of burns.

I am sure TY can burn at 12x as good or better then the sony21 just on which burners
Nero and imgburn can give the same burn quality, it is just more fun when you burn with nero.
I still use neither of them now to burnsigpic

Night beat me to it....I've burned my TY 8X at 12X and got as good results as the your Sony at 12X. I actually haven't burned anything in over a week, lemme get off this laptop and fire up the desktop.

Don't forget this is while Folding but I do agree that I should have added that this is only on one burner.

Folding seems to take a back seat as soon as I start doing anything else. I've never had any issues with F@H while trying to do anything else.
