I am going to post the Samsung scan but I scanned it with the Samsung. I am starting to distrust the LiteON when it comes to scanning because I looked at a couple of old scans from April with TYG03s, (not from the same spindle) & they looked great. I have a couple of more tests to run & try to verify.

why dont you scan the same disc with both liteon and samsung? ( leave time in between for the disc to cool off?

Definitely some strange things going on there.

Just curious, are all of these scans with the newest cd speed 4.7.5.0?

I have never liked the new version, found it too buggy with my Samsung.
I wondering what effect it might have on the Lite-On even though it seems suited for that type of burner??

@ NightTran, that's the couple of tests I have to do.

          @ Dan, yes.

First scan with the Samsung, second pic was the second attempt at a scan with the LiteOn. CdDvd speed quit 3/4 of the way through the first one, QS was @77. I might post the cool down scans tomorrow, kind of getting my fill of scanning, if you know what I mean.

Has anyone played with the burn feature of CD/DVD Speed? Out of curiosity I used it to burn a disc the other day and don't really know how to interpret the results....although if you ask me, looking at all those squiggly lines I woudln't think it is great.

...and here is a disc burned with DVD2One's burn engine.

that's a puzzler, wonder if the sata connection or firmware is messing up the scanning

I would trust the samsung on this more, wish you had a benq or a pata liteon to confirm tho

                      More.

Same media but burned @12X. This time the first one is the Samsung. @ NightTran, the Plextor is still connected & still gets used a lot. Did you mean do a burn with the plextor with this media & scan with both?

This is not a comparison Chewy but just in case somebody thought the LiteON was to new for that version of CDDVD Speed.

Well when these are approved you will see that they are comparable, so I think it is down to LiteON & Dvd-R media. Not that I am scared of more work.
