yeah my players are -R, my r dubyas are -. i've banished + in my place. i didn't know this pioneer was capable of 16x. anyway i don't think i have used 16x sony, but i have used 16x memorex burned@4x though with no coasters or skips ever.

Just as a follow-up on my side topic...

Meritline finally called me today and agreed to pay shipping to get these crappy gray CD-Rs back, and they'll give me a refund when they receive them. But I had him check in the warehouse, and he said that ALL of their 100-289-### discs are gray & white, like these. They're supposed to be shipping me some 100-291-###packs tomorrow, since they have the same specs (still Ritek, though). I couldn't get them to upgrade me free to TYs as replacements, but he is supposed to throw in some free TY samples.

              These are the bad ones.

just burned a data disk with my old 105, poor computer had aol installed with
NAV and spybot on full protection, wouldn't do anything till I disabled everything in msconfig. Scanned a 95 with tyg02. BTW 4x is all she will burn
                  at(max) for this old pioneer.

4x is all i can do with my sony's too. which is my prefered speed. when i can only do 2x is when this drive will meet mr. sledge hammer. be nice if a new firmware came out.

nope, I ran out of those G03's some time ago, my last batch came G02's and I am rationing them out, so you got the G03's in the value pack?

or have you checked in the liteon? does the pioneer see the mid code?

haven't even opened the package yet. i have a few sony's left, but checking the media ID will be the first thing i do. i'll let you know if the pioneer see's the ID.

Meritline is still jerking me around. The other Riteks look the same (gray), and they have the bad CDs & double my money, but won't send me anything.
