Another Illegal Disc ERROR, any help would be great!

I never use to have this problem before, and then i started getting an ILLEGAL DISC ERROR every time i burned a dvd. I bought a new burner and replaced my old one, and it was still suffering from the same problem. So i reformatted my computer and everything worked fine for awhile until now. Now i am getting the same problems i did before. ILLEGAL DISC ERROR

I kno u guys get tons of these problem threads, but any help or suggestions at all will be greatly appreciated. here is the error message...

what brand of disc are using?
This means your burner isn't recognizing the disc

This basically means your burner doesn't like the discs

          Nero API version: 6.3.1.11
          Using interface version: 6.3.1.4
Update to Nero version 6.6.0.18 here ooppss I see you already did
I am not sure what speed your burning at if your not already burning at 4x give it a try.I think your Nero is working OK

A few of my burns started not playing when I took them over to a friends house(iffy player), I then started scanning, found the bad brands pretty quick and reburned over 100 disks one month. Still replacing marginal burns.
The trouble is marginal burns may play this year fine but next year I might not be able to recover the data and instead of watching a backup I will be remaking it. Why bother backing up at all?

try to get some +R verbatims, officemax has them on sale this week, you can bitsett to dvd-rom if your players don't like +r format

your burner may have an issue with -R, liteon is in the process of fixing that

Prassi/Veritas driver could be conflicting with nero. If i'm correct it's associated with sonic recordnow or roxio.
If you are going to burn with that media than you have to adjust the size of your output files in shrink to be smaller so they are not pushing the capacity of the disc. i would suggest 4300 right now you are at 4464mb and the capacity of disc is 4489mb that's cutting it close with the most compatiable media and/or burner.

btw: Since their is the only office max is on the other side of town where i live i usually just bring their ad into office depot or best buy and they match the advertised price. saves me some gas money.

If that's the case I would recommend the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 1.0 to remove Roxio\Sonic programs I did a lot of reading about the roxizap and it seems not to work so well most of the time while the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 1.0 has worked 100% of the time

Its very simple to use just highlight roxio and sonic programs like I have here and then click remove and your done(my roxio is already removed so pay no attention to what I have highlighted this is just an example)

I have been informed by what I consider a top expert in the field that the newer versions don't conflict?
