      From the research I have done I believe these are fake TY's.

        Looking at those results, I can't imagine them being real TY unless you hit one awful batch.

            Interesting information when one googles "longevity dvd media".

            Look what I came up with, but please note the poster's last two paragraphs;

            Link

            The poster actually commends Memorex for it's honesty.

              But still.......almost all those causes can be avoided with proper care and high quality media.

              Maybe Memorex is being honest because they are sick of all the complaints and know they make crap media, LOL.

                  @ Chewy, I missed that one, thank you. Before I posted I googled this number (T1017), & found out (a) all TY's have whay you said in post #4 & (b) the number I found means (fake). I am just glad I didn't buy them, I was given a few because I saw the MID & it said they were TYG02's. So now I have to tell this person the bad news, oh well I won't see him until Monday.

                          katz,
                          the answer might be somewhere in here, I know little about cd-r's,
                          just that nec dvd burners are the prefered scanners, liteon's near useless and benq's just OK.

                              That's good, you must be the lucky one.
                              I have had mostly good, some not as good verbs but I am a TY02 lover all the way. Latest batch is giving me a 98 or 99 QS every burn.

                              Cheers.
