1650/1655 at NewEgg

the benq 1620, 1640, 1650, 1655 are the end of the line for good scanners.

benq has changed chipsets with the 1670 and quality scanning is not supported

My 1655 is a great drive, came stock with BCHB....no worries, I'm not planning on flashing to BCIB any time soon either.

Well, I ordered a 1655 from Meritline on 6/8/06 and it was sitting on my porch on 6/09/06. So i would have to say they are in stock.

I got my RETAIL 1655 from NewEgg today ...

Hate to say this ... there is 2 things that I DO NOT like about retail version ...

1) The Eject Button is way too LOW Profile and Skinny ... almost looks like it will Fail anytime soon ... I like my chunky OEM Button.

2) The BenQ name splashed on the front. I wonder if there is a way I can ERASE it or Paint it with somekind of permanent ink marker or scrape it with a Razer.

BTW, I am going to see if I can simply SELL it to one my friends or coworkers ... I just don't care for the look of the RETAIL Version.

@Gary, your 1655 from Meritline is it "Retail" or OEM? And how is it working for you?

I dont really care how it look ( color....) but how it's burn quality, that is more important

Aesthetics really aren't much to me...but my case has hidden drive bays so it really doesn't matter. To each his own.

So how much do you want for it?

the reason I like retail because of how it pack, it always have cushion ( I may spell wrong) so I know for sure the drive is protect

2 of my drives are like that, & 2 are generic, no markings on front A razor blade would probably work to scrape it off, if it really bothers you that much.

I got the OEM drive and would have liked to have the BenQ logo on the front of the drive even if you can't see it...I guess I like my bling that way.
