Update your nero version to 6.6.0.18:

What type of media are you using?

I use the same as i have for a year but have trouble with all new movies, so I'm thinking i might need something else besides what i was using. The discs are imation DVD+R 8X. I have updated Nero, but have wasted 4 DVDs in the process so haven't tried since I updated it. Thought you might have another suggestion.

Reading & using The Golden Rules couldn't hurt.

Do you have Nero set to booktype automatically? Do these dvd's play on your PC?

could be a bad batch of disks or your burner is dying

let's shut down some of that crud running in the background

probably got to set booktype after each bootup with that burner
but that won't help nero burn

as a check try a burn with imgburn at 4x
