Nero 6 doesn't burn with DVDShrink

    Hi all,
there must be a question like this somethere in this forum, alas, I haven't found it yet.

I'm using DVDShrink in conjunction with Neo 6.0. Until yesterday, everything worked just perfect. Now I'm getting error-messages and broken burns everytime I use this combination to backup DVDs.

First I rip the content to HD with RipIt4Me or DVDEncrypter. Then I use MenuShrink to minimize menus, afterwards DVDShrink to compress and delete languages. Then I simply hit "Backup" and the backup starts, using Nero to copy the files onto a DVDR.

From now on Nero aborts the burn midways and shows a message of this kind:

Sorry if this insert is too long, but for the experts here I don't want to delete anything.

So what can I do? Change to ImgBurn for the burning process? Can I play an Image in my DVD-player?

Another topic: When I try to burn the files on HD to DVDR using Nero alone, Nero suggests DVD-video modus. Then there're two folders (Audio and Video VTS) already in the formerly blank (left) side of Nero. The folder, that contains the ripped files, has only files that begin with VTS...

How do I burn the files with Nero to a DVDR?

Thanks for any help and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! </n..h......></not></atapi></hl-dt-st>

    There is a later firmware

It's the last thing it does with the burning you get problems with. Sometimes when you put a fingerprint on the discs outerpart that can happen.

see the top of this forum for how to burn video dvd's with nero manually, lower your burn speed to 8X or lower

it's really not a good idea to have your dvd burner slaved to an inferior older dvd-rom

another possible issue is the age of your dvd burner, has it been used a lot?

another is the power supply, looks like you have added 2 drives to the computer?

Audio_TS is ussually empty the Video_TS folder has all of your VTS files stored in it.

How do I burn the files with Nero to a DVDR? what do you mean by DVDR? You can burn to a DVD+R or a DVD-R
You can burn your back ups with Nero but you may want to try IMGburn its free and its a better burner.

          Done

A great Thank You to all of you!

But, to my dismay, i must confess it's been me, who is the malfunctioning part in the machinery.

As simple as it is: I forgot to check the empty space on my HD! I managed to fill 195 GB with copies and copies of already backuped DVDs. Eventually the end came and DVDShrink and, as its companion, Nero failed to backup the copy on the HD and consequently aborted the burn. DVDShrink always creates a backup on the HD. If it can't, all goes wrong.

That's it. (I'm the one who gets the hammer)

Additionally I had to lower the burning speed to get a positive result. I just opened a new package of (obviously worse) DVD+Rs and by setting down the speed to 4x or even 2x the results are as perfect as before.

What do we learn of this example?
Always check your Harddisk before blaming other programmes. And:
Always switch on your brain before posting in a forum.

So again, thanks and a Happy New Year (it's 2007, of course)
