Ripit4me crash on Ice Age 2

Here is the debug log that I received while trying to backup my copy of Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.

I originally tried to back it up using AnyDVD and DVDShrink but I received an error. Then I headed over to this forum and read about RipIt4Me and tried that. I used RipIt4Me then DVD Decrypter then DVDShrink then Nero and that is how I received this error.

I have also tried to back up my copy of the new Pirates of the Caribbean and also received an error (not inclueded in this post).

Can anyone help? I really don't want to let the kids use the original movies, they have already ruined too many of them.

it simply used to play a dvd once inserted, if you only insert dvds to watch them, keep it. if you insert dvds to make backups and dont watch them, take it off.

Looks more as a Nero related burning error/problem. Post your Nero log.

TRF: Two choices with Nero. Either burn manually with the version you have now or rollback to this version but you will need your serial #.

IMHO: Use ImgBurn, just create an ISO with Dvd Shrink & burn. If you have a problem with that link, try this alternate ImgBurn download.

Currently the setting is DMA if available. The only other option I have is PIO only, which I think is not the option I want.

OK, maybe I am having a firmware issue?? After all my previous problems, I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything. I still can't burn a DVD. Now the issue squarely lies with Nero (version 6.6.0.18). I backed up my copy of Ice Age 2 and when DVDShrink tries to launch Nero by asking to insert an empty disc, it does not read any disc that I use. I am currently using TDK DVD+R discs.


From my Nero log posted above, my DVD drive is a HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B D: CDRom0 which came installed in my Dell E310 desktop computer. The driver is listed as being from Microsoft and the date is 7/1/2001, driver version 5.1.2535.0.

Can anyone tell me if I need to update my driver and if so where I should look? I have already been to the Dell site, but they were no help.

Update

I just installed DVDIdentifier to try and find what kind of discs I am really using and it also cannot read my blank DVD. The error provided is:

ERROR : Unable To Initialize Disc In Time : Not ready - Medium not present [02/3A/00]

Any ideas?

Burner can't read disks - clean burner or it may be going south.
