Harry Potter - Goblet of fire

I've tried searching and even though some posts are about the Goblet of fire I haven't found one that will answer my question. I hope you will forgive me if I missed some other post.
I've tried to back up the goblet of fire with RipIt4Me: no problem. I checked the ripped files on PC: no problem. I burned with Nero: no problem. I played the burned dvd on my PC: no problem. On my standalone players (3 in total): no way! It will play ok for about 20/30 minutes then I get jerky video and/or jerky audio, it skips and jumps and after a while freezes.
From the other posts I read it could be bad media, but I'm using Tayo Yuden (tried twice), I even tried RW media (that was even worse - less compatible with standalone I imagine).
I also read that probably DVDShrink alone could have done it, or maybe with some help from DVDD, could the use of RI4M have given me these problems?

I have two burners and neither of them has done this before. I even upgraded firmware after the first bad burn. Could it be the burning software (i.e. nero)? Should I try with Imgburn? Or maybe it's the compression rate. Around 57% with only movie and menus.

Posting your burn log will help. This thread will probably be moved to the Blank Media and Burning forum when a mod comes along.

I'm almost sure I didn't save the nero log as I had no problems during the rip and burn. I guess I'll have to waste another blank.
I read some of the threads about the use of nero cd dvd speed to check the quality of disks, but if I understood correctly, that will only measure the quality of the burn. Is there a way to check the quality of the media before the burn? I mean apart from looking up the mediacode on http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm.

there's a lot of fake TaiyoYuden, instead of wasting more blanks, just post the appropriate nero burn log(see sticky at top of this forum)

we need to know both burners and their firmware

how are the TY disks are branded? packaged etc? labeled? made where?

I was rather hoping you wouldn't mention the possibility of fake disks. (hoping it was rare to say the least).
I'm afraid I didn't save the nero log so I guess I have no alternative to burning another blank, do I?
The disks are DVD-R 4.7GB, branded Circle, shrink-wrapped, no label and no indication as to where they were made. Bought them on-line and the seller indicates Taiyo Yuden as Manufacturer (for what it's worth)
Burners are a (relatively) new LITE-ON SHM 165P6S and an old BTC DRW 1004IM, but I dont remember the firmware. Have to get home to give you that info. Unless I messed up though I have just upgraded the LITE-ON firmware. The LITE-ON is the burner I used.
              At 4x before anyone asks.

the e-circle ty fakes were sold in europe several months ago, suppliers later dropped them

you might get some of them to work, very iffy

                scanning with cdspeed will help

My clone/fakes gave a few good burns, I started checking every burn and pitched a lot of them, big waste of time

a picture of a real TaiyoYuden showing typical serial numbers

Nero normally saves the log. Program Files / Ahead / Nero / History.log.

                    @Chewy.
You ended up with some fake TYs? I can definitely understand the big waste of time. I started a scan this morning but the speed went down to 0x afetr a while. Will post scan results as soon as I can get one done.
I'll also check the serial from the dvds I got.

                    @ soup.
Thank you. My mistake really, cause I later (after posting) found that in one of the stickies. I'm sorry I made you repeat it.

I bought 200 of these upon advise here in the forum, I then educated myself
about fake ty's, only one of my burners, the lg will burn them ok/so so.

Well Chewy let me tell you that in the partial scan I did this morning I was getting P I errors at an average of 1100 and a max of 1630 (those are NOT typing errors) and P I failures at average 140 and max I can't remember.
The funny thing is I used a few for burning .avi files I converted to DVD (with TMPGEnc) and even though most dvds were for the kids, and I hardly check them, it didn't seem so bad.
