    @ soup:

The next time future shop has a good sale on AND you have a Staples (in your town), bring in the FS ad to staples and they will price match plus give you 10% of the savings off from the sale price.

The last time I bought verbs (100), they were $30 at FS. I brought the ad to staples.

Their regular price was $65. So I got 10% of ($65-$30=$35) or $3.50 more off. Their price then became $26.50 +PST/GST. BUT you must bring the FS ad for the price matching!

Too bad staples did not sell 20 packs of DLs.

Yes I found that out last time Future Shop had the Verbatim DLs on sale, Staples doesn't sell them, the 20 packs that is. I don't think this one was in the flyer was it? But I wished I had have remembered the price match when I bought the 2 100 pack spindles, but $20 was a good deal anyway.

        What do I have?

        @Soup , Chewy

I just came from Futureshop with a 100 spindle and the L and K have feet are times roman font the other ones that don't have the feet are ariel font. I didn't buy those I bought DVD-R and I have the little feet on the L and K.

The last spindle I bought had the feet and they were Mitsubichi Chemical Manufacturer ID: MCC 03RG20 What do i have now, I haven't opened the spindle and was hoping they were the same as the previous spindle. I have the litte feet. Are the DVD+R's that don't have the feet better than the -R's that have feet? I typically use -R since I have never had problems.

Soup, did you get +R or -R? can you tell me what the media ID is and if they are + or -?
        thanks

I got Verbatim Dvd+R 16X, made in Taiwan, MID=MCC 004, no feet. If you want to check out the first 2 burns out of one of the spindles, go here.

            @ Soup,

so that media ID is a good one? MCC makes me believe Mitsubichi chemicals. I don't know what this spindle of -R's is it has the feet on the K, L . The last spindle 1 year ago MCC had the little feet also and thay were very good. I think I will keep these -R's and use them for data and TV captures that I author to DVD, I have 150 Sony TY's 8X and I want to keep those for me. It is like the episode of Seinfeld when Elaine was evaluating boyfriends to see if they were sponge worthy. I look at files/movies and think is it TY worthy!

Unfortunately nowadays, we don't find that many worthy, but there are still the oldies but goodies.

Good find Dan. A warning of sorts, Future Shop has Verbatim Dvd+R DLs on sale this week for $29.99 (CDN), 20 pack spindles. The ones I checked at the local store here were all made in India, not Singapore.

Better deal at FS then Staples for DL, they want $20 for a 10 pack, not sure where they were made.

Darn buggers had 50 for $17 last week, now 100 for $20. I think they like messing with my head, lol.

Isn't that the way though? When the 50pcs were on sale they had none, until I saw the old stuff with the old packaging.

I managed to get 2 100pcs spindles, but not much left. Those staples brand on sale are going fast too around here.
