Wow, I found that article to be very interesting. I did not realize that +R media was far superior over -R media. Maybe it's time for me to switch over to +Rs, but that comes with a little price increase. I know my standalone will play +R. Is there anything I need to do to be able to burn on to them?

see if your burner will allow bitsetting to dvd-rom, seems to help compatibility with any stand alone dvd player

Had it been anyone but you, Soup, I might have taken that as a genuine question

Thanks for the link soup. I was looking at that page after I did a search on this subject, after I wrote my last post. unfortunately, my burner is not list as one of the tab buttons inside of DvdDecrypter (Sony RW DRU-800A). And to top it off at present I don't even have any +R media. I'm I correct to assume that even if I were able to change the bitset to dvd-rom using DvdDecrypter. That it will only work when using DvdD's burn engine, and not any other program. If using Nero to burn, that you would have to change the setting in Nero also? The reason I ask this stupid question is that at present I mostly burn with Clonedvd, and I don't believe they offer this option. I may have to replace my burner and start using Imgburn.

Setting booktype with Imgburn. You can use many tools to set the booktype though, various Nero programs and CD Speed. You Sony drive is more than likely a rebadged Lite-On.

Thanks loco, I didn't even notice that on the left column it says OEM: Lite-On. So I guess I change the bitsetting to Dvd-Rom, with DvdDecrypter using the Lite-On tab. Now I need to go and buy some +Rs, but I'm sitting on a bunch of -Rs at the moment.

As good a deal as it is I just can't justify buying DL in bulk...I still have over half a spindle (13-14) from two years ago just waiting on something worthy of burning on them and I sent 5 to someone to try out.
