Now that is the way of thinking that I have to bring my wife around to, if you see a good deal to help the computer or what we do, you have to take it (LOL).

@ NightTran, I thought you were going to drag out your old LG & we would get to see some results from it?

I am impressed with the Lite-On LH-20A1S with the PIF score.

            So I ordered one.

Got any useful links for me?

that's good, the s model you quoted earlier was sata and iffy on some setups

the p(pata) model has firmware issues but should be solved soon enough

If you find any let me know. I did download SmartBurn but haven't really looked it over yet.

I think this pretty well wraps it up for now, if anybody has their own drive comparisons to add, feel free. All burned @4X, scanned @8X with ImgBurn 2.3.0.0.

It still looks the Lite-0n in giving the least PIFs. Nice scans on all but the Lite-On was 22% of the other 2 drive for PIFs.

Have you made your Lite-On Region free yet?

...and about the Verbatims, I posted some burn shots not long back and I noticed them Verbatims were not doing a good job as the sony's. But you know me.. still learning so I thought it was me screwing it up!
Sony's were still on sale (at least last tues when i went in) +R 25 cake box
for like $6.99, if they are out you can pay for them at the sale price and just wait for them to come in later... sometimes a week or 2.

Yes not bad after 2 crashes, (not the program, I attribute it to my display driver), had to do 2 unplugs. So I uninstalled my NVIDIA display driver (8421's) & after a hangup on the first restart, switched off & switched back on booted in to safe mode, used DriverCleaner Pro & installed DHZeropoints 9291's, restarted & then did a third rip which worked all the way. I think I have it all stable just in time for Windows Update to screw it up like last time, which is why I had to rollback to the 8421's in the first place. So yes saved lots of time.
