you guys are getting in deep water here

flashing from dos, command prompt safe mode etc

I just flash mobo bios from a floppy boot(dos32?)

w/o sata drivers seeing a hard drive is impossible

if the win32 gui flasher doesn't see the drive then you might try a dos floppy boot and run the dos flasher from the command prompt, you might/probably have to have the dos flasher and bin file on an extra floppy you exchange after booting to the startup floppy

I had an old drive try to go south with me in a crossflash and after the win32gui binflash the drive didn't work and the drive light was blinking

I powered down and reflashed after rebooting

any windows flash should be done in safe mode

Ok I need the gui version of binflash?I'm not doing it this way by choice I thought I was following the instructions on L&Ds site.I read extensively and I guess I misinterpreted it.I'm at work for the next 10 hours but,I'll give it another go tonight .Is there another (manual) instruction you reccomend?I've tried the binflash on 3 drives now and haven't got it right yet.

even to run the win32 gui version people report having to drop nero aspi or a good substitute into the folder where you put binflash and the bin file

it's one of those "long ago and far away" problems, many moons ago

New problem,Iprobably should have posted in General Computing but, since it happened in the process of this drive install I put here ,after uninstalling Nec 4570A and taking it out on re-boot it says"Disc boot error insert systems disc and press enter"So I go into boot menu and tell it to boot my Hdd with Vista and it works but, everytime I re-boot the cpu it reverts to the error message.
