the new version of PowerDVD wont play with the hardwear acc. enabled (i have a nvidia geforce2) and without this it seams to have a great deal of trouble playing DVDs nice and smoothly? any ideas of how to solve this..

no idea concerning hardware acceleration, but what about your DMA settings?

    is it enabled?

If you are using the latest Detonator driver (Particularly the 29.xx drivers, which has a bug with this), you can't use H. Acceleration without experiencing problems. Try applying the PowerDVD Patch, which might resolve the problem (It did for my GF2MX).
