    Nvidia 42.01 drivers

I just recently updated my Geforce3 drivers to 41.09 and then tried 42.01, and now my DVD player isn't working. I want to keep these new drivers because the anti aliasing seems to be a lot smoother. Nvidia claimed up to a 25% increase in performance, and a lot of other improvments so i'd rather keep these than go back to my old drivers, the problem is this, I use powerdvd and whenever i try and play a dvd movie it comes up with this error:

    Error Code: F4D41436
The TV Out port of your display card is not working properly.
This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled.

    With windows media player:

Windows media player cannot play this DVD because a problem has occurred with the copyright protection.

and MSIDVD just plays the sound, this is obviously a driver issue and i been looking online for answers, everyone just says to disable the TV out, but it seems to me to be disabled, as well as twinview.

    config-

    AMD 1800+ (1.533 ghz)
    640 Mb DDR ram
    Geforce 3 Ti200 64 Mb
    Sound Blaster Live! sound card
    Windows XP Prof SP1
    Powerdvd 4.0

    Try reinstalling the drivers

I've had a GForce 2 video card for 2 years now and after having upgraded my drivers several times, I've learned my lesson.

Always, before upgrading the drivers, go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and remove the old drivers first.

Then reboot your machine and install the new drivers, and reboot the machine again.

    Good luck!!

Now that you've updated your drivers (and the suggestion made by amammes is most certainly both correct and critical), if not already done, uninstall PowerDVD, reboot, reinstall PowerDVD, reboot...

I tried that this morning..a good suggestion i didn't think of, but came with the same results, i uninstalled powerdvd, then the drivers, restarted, reinstalled the drivers, restarted and reinstalled powerdvd, still the same error message, think i just might have to go back to the old drivers

i have the exact same problem with my geforce 3.
however i havent found the problem yet
if you find a fix plz post it
and if you roll back the driver and it works let me know also plz
i did find a program called dvd idle where you can turn macrovision off and the dvd will play just fine
but it is shareware and you have 30 days to use it
and it pops up on the screen every 10 minutes or so while watching the dvd so that kinda sucks
might just have to pay the 20 bucks for the program cause i cant figure out any other way to play a dvd and i really dont want to use an older driver for video card.
          hope this helps a little

Thanks a ton, I didnt know it was the macrovision that was doing it, theres a few other programs out there to disable it so i'm sure i can find one, or like you said just 20 bucks to register dvd idle.

Thanks again, and to the other two that replied
