I bought a cheap 12ve monkeys dvd at some secondhand shop.

awesome great film by the way lol


The thing is i can´t skip the fbi warning and the other crapy stuff on it and even while watching the film i can´t control anything besides stop and play. Downloaded now several tools to activate and free more user operations (dvdidle, dvdx ghost). It doesnt help. Only after ripping with dvddecrypter and watching it from hdd gives solution. How comes?

Yes, it's a great flick. DL PgcEdit and use the Kill Playback macro on the PGCs containing the FBIs. At the same time, you can get rid of the IFO PUOs that stop you from fast forwarding.

Using DVD Decrypter removes the PUOs, which are stopping you from doing this. DVD Shrink will also remove them, if you select that option.

well this bug drives me mad. Although it takes only some minutes to rip dvds to hdd this can´t be the solution for everyday usage .

Just tried DVD X Player which has normally no problems with PUOs and region restrictions.

So i was googling around another time and found some info on corrupted GOP dvd structures which are also used to protect dvds...ohhh i would love these companys if i would have tons more humour for this protection jokes.....but i definetly can´t laugh about this....

Related to "ARccOS" copy protection? If so, DVD Decrypter v.3.54 automatically eliminates it...

Unfortunately, removing these PUOs, which are enabled in DVD Decrypter's file mode by default, is the solution for everyday use (at least for your backup copy). You may also eliminate them entirely from the DVD with VobBlanker.

Corrupt GOPs? Maybe post a link. Like if you cut a GOP, it can become broken, but this will only affect that GOP. The next I-frame and you will be right. So 1/2 second later, your broken GOP is right as rain.

Some of the ARccOS stuff involves putting rubbish on the disk to defeat DVD Shrink. I have recently seen the first of these in this country, and the system is not yet all that sophisticated. Certainly its IFO corruption (which is of course, very different to the GOPs in the VOBs) is childish.

As setarip says, rip first with DVD Decrypter and you will be OK. Leave the setting on default, except you might like to remove IFO PUOs (and VOB PUOs on movies that only contain one angle).

thanks for your guide and hints to handle this dvd-PUO problem.I´ll do it the secure way (ripping) now...i am tired of trying region-free and operation-free tweaker tools for just having some forwarding comfort while watching this film....

The film is rip´d to hdd with dvddecrypter (-> PUOs removed in file mode) but its still not possible to move the PowerDVD film navigation slider

Played hdd rip also with DVD X Player: result: ->>>>Player crashed!<<<<-

Used vobblanker to remove all PUO informations in second run....still not possible to move the film slider!

Anybody familar with navigation bars? Some dvds seem to allow moving those sliders and some don´t...

after hours of hours of hours on searching i finally found the solution to this dvd play-search-problem and its not that difficult afterwards.

Solution for activating time-search-play as follows:
use IfoEdit open VIDEO_TS.ifo and search for this entry:
[VMG_PTT_SRPT Video Manager Title Play Map Table]

and enter here:

[Title playback type xx] >>> xx=is some number a simple 20 /or 36

save
DONE!
